Metal Expo 2022, the most comprehensive meeting platform of the iron and steel industry, opened its doors for the fourth time between September 28 and October 1 at halls 9 and 10 of the Istanbul Expo Center. The event was organized by Sky Fuarcılık in collaboration with the Steel Exporters’ Association, and was held with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, as well as the industry’s leading professional organizations.

The Most Comprehensive Fair of the Sector

Metal Expo 2022 once again maintained its position as the most wide-reaching meeting platform in the industry in terms of exhibitor and visitor profile. A total of 10,016 visitors from 54 different provinces across Turkey attended the fair. After Istanbul, the highest participation came from Kocaeli, while Bursa, Izmir, Ankara and Konya also stood out in terms of visitor density. These figures clearly demonstrate how broadly the fair resonates across the country.

When examining the demand rates for products and services exhibited at the fair, flat products ranked first with 15.8%. Stainless steel accounted for 13.2%, galvanized steel 11.7%, construction steels 12.4% and service center services 11.5%. Die steels, tool steels, structural steel, heat treatment and processing machinery were also among the main categories that attracted visitor interest.

International Participation from 62 Countries

Metal Expo 2022 also presented a remarkable picture in terms of international participation. Industry representatives from 62 different countries, led by Iran and including Iraq, Georgia, Russia and Germany, followed the fair. Iran ranked first in the international visitor profile, followed by Iraq, Georgia, Russia and Germany. This diversity clearly demonstrates that the event has evolved into a significant global trade and networking platform, not just domestically.

The fair brought together not only companies operating in the iron and steel sector, but also participants from machinery, software and logistics fields, providing a productive environment for cross-sector collaboration and knowledge sharing. This platform, where domestic and international buyers came together, also laid the groundwork for establishing critical connections across the supply chain.

Çakıroğlu Metal Took Its Place in Hall 9

Çakıroğlu İthalat İhracat Metal San. A.Ş., which has been operating in the field of steel and metal supply since 1969, welcomed visitors at its stand in Hall 9 at Metal Expo 2022. Headquartered in Tuzla and exporting to more than 24 countries, Çakıroğlu Metal brought its extensive product range and strong supply infrastructure together with industry representatives at the fair.

While existing partnerships were strengthened during stand visits, productive meetings were also held with new potential customers from both domestic and international markets.
